Well, if you’re keeping up, you know that my friend Jennifer has arrived!  We are tag teaming this blog for our 2 week extravaganza.  Today was day 1, and we started on our quest to “Trip the Light Fantastic!”  For those of you who know us well, you will recogonize that this is a phrase that we use often when talking about our time together and our vacations.  We are always asked, “What does that mean, Tripping the Light Fantastic?”

“To Trip the Light Fantastic” – Is all about having a good time.  It is an old phrase that originated from a poem written by Milton in 1645, entitled L’Allegro

Haste thee, Nymph, and bring with thee, Jest, and youthful Jollity,
Quips and cranks and wanton wiles, Nods and becks and wreathed smiles. . .
. . . Sport that wrinkled Care derides, And Laughter holding both his sides.
Come, and trip it, as you go, On the light fantastic toe;

Another meaning – To dance, especially in an imaginative or ‘fantastic’ manner.

Well, I’m not sure how much dancing we will be doing, but there will be jesting, youthful jollity, quips, cranks, and much laughter.  Our number 1 goal for this vacation is to Trip The Light, every chance we get.

My planning of this trip was to show Jennifer Phoenix from my prospective.  Day 1 was a light day.  The itinary today was to have lunch at the Urban Tea Loft, which is located in downtown Chandler.  We took the bus – not an everyday occurence for my Diva.  (Hear her version tomorrow).  Once back at home we had the cocktail of the day, a Paloma.  A light fruity, delicious drink made with tequila.  Check out the slide show below of our days events and be sure to check in tomorrow for Goal #1 – making sure she goes back to Buffalo with a deep dark Arizona tan.                               Pat . . .
